Senior Manager, Strategic Planning

As a Senior Manager (International Business Services), you will be part of the International Business Division (IBD) of the Singapore Business Federation to help Singapore companies and SMEs Learn, Land and Localise overseas.

This position supports SBF International Business Division in four key functions: (1) Research and Analysis, (2) Project Management and Stakeholder Engagement, and (3) Partnerships and Marketing. (4) act as a key member of the secretariat team managing SBF committees related to Internationalisation.

You will also provide support to SBF management on any other tasks assigned.

Job Responsibilities

(1) Research and Analysis 

This includes but not limited to:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, competitor analysis, and opportunities for Singaporean companies in international markets.
  • Analyse market data, industry reports, and customer insights to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Develop data-driven go-to-market strategies and framework tailored to specific industry sectors and target markets.
  • Stay abreast of the latest marketing trends, industry developments, and best practices in international business.

(2) Partnerships and Marketing 

This includes but not limited to:

  • Develop a comprehensive partnership strategy aligned with company objectives and target audience.
  • Research and identify potential partners and sponsors across various industries and sectors.
  • Be involved in the outreach and negotiation process to secure high-impact partnerships and sponsorships.
  • Craft compelling proposals that highlight the value proposition for potential partners.
  • Manage all aspects of the partnership lifecycle, from initial contact to ongoing relationship management.
  • Develop and execute co-branded marketing campaigns that leverage the strengths of both partners.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure successful campaign execution

 (3) Project Management and Stakeholder Engagement 

This includes but not limited to:

  • Manage the secretariat function, facilitating collaboration and knowledge sharing among senior industry and market leaders.
  • Develop and deliver impactful presentations on market trends and strategies to diverse audiences, including senior management and industry leaders.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external (including overseas) stakeholders, fostering strong relationships to achieve departmental goals.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of implemented strategies, adapting and refining them as needed. 

(4) Ensure accurate, timely and smooth corporate KPI reporting and updates 

This includes but not limited to:

  • Perform secretariat role for Internationalisation Action Committee (Quarterly Meeting), and track discussion progress for the committee
  • Manage professional secretariat support senior for stakeholders in the committee
  • Mid-term and full year corporate KPI reporting
  • Quarterly management reporting 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Understanding of accounting, costing and budgeting concept is an advantage.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a market research, partnerships and marketing strategy role.
  • Proven track record of conducting in-depth market research, analysing data, and translating insights into actionable strategies.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify key issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to present complex information to diverse audiences, including senior leaders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organised, with a keen eye for accuracy and strong data management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and positive attitude, excellent work ethic and a team player.
  • A passion for international business and a strong understanding of the Singapore business landscape.
