- SBF confident Singapore will continue to prosper and maintain economic success
Mr Lee was a visionary, transformational and charismatic leader. He led Singapore from a Third World nation to a vibrant First World city state. Under his stewardship, Singapore earned the reputation as a key regional and global centre for businesses, supported by world-class infrastructure and a highly efficient government. With a pro-business environment and a committed highly-skilled workforce, many businesses call Singapore home and have progressed with the nation and its people. The extraordinary growth that our country has achieved since independence speaks of the exemplary and selfless leadership of Mr Lee in nation building during the 31 years he has served as Singapore's Prime Minister and later as Senior Minister and Minister Mentor.
As our nation mourns the loss of Mr Lee, SBF is confident that Singapore will continue to prosper and maintain its economic success. We would like to urge our business community to dedicate ourselves to continue the legacy of our founding father. With confidence and hard work, we can further strengthen the building blocks of our economy and society.
We have lost the best and most respected leader in Singapore's history. Mr Lee will remain as one of the world's greatest political leaders of modern times and he will be sorely missed.
