Minister Heng Swee Keat's Dialogue with Business Leaders

28 October 2015 [Singapore] – Meeting with business leaders at a closed-door dialogue at SBF today, Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat shared that the Future Economy Committee which he chairs, will focus on five “futures”, namely the future of jobs, companies, resources, technology and markets. He added that the government will also look at ways of enhancing innovation and value creation together with the business community. At the dialogue, SBF also revealed plans to release its Business Position Paper in early 2016.

When speaking to the media at the end of the dialogue session, Mr S.S. Teo, Chairman of SBF, said “Similar issues were brought up by Minister Heng and what was discussed in the paper, such as the cost of doing business and how businesses can go international. One of the pressing issues in the short to medium terms was the cost of doing business for small and medium-sized enterprises.”
