SBF Launches WeChat Mini-Program to Better Connect Singapore Exhibitors with Buyers at CIIE 2019

  • The digital platform showcases 84 Singapore businesses participating in CIIE this year.
  • Integrating business matching features, it allows buyers to connect directly with the exhibitors with a touch of a finger.
Thursday, 31 October 2019 [Shanghai, China] The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) today launched a WeChat mini-programme to enable buyers at the Chinese International Import Expo (CIIE) this year to connect easily with the 84 Singapore companies participating in this year’s Expo.

The mini-programme, a small application embedded within China's popular social media platform WeChat, connects users to a directory of Singapore exhibitors at CIIE, allowing them to send messages and make appointments directly. The mini-programme will also provide users with the latest CIIE news and activity updates.

SBF Chairman Mr S.S. Teo said, “The first CIIE saw successful partnerships for many of our companies with the signing of 15 MOUs, valued at more than SGD152 million. This year, we want to build on our past efforts and provide an effective, useful online business matching tool which can help connect potential Singaporean and Chinese business partners both during and after the event.”

Through the mini-programme, Chinese professional buyers can browse the products and services provided by Singaporean exhibitors online. Similarly, Singaporean exhibitors can review appointments and requests sent by Chinese buyers in real-time, effectively fostering potential business partnerships round-the-clock.

Following Singapore’s successful participation in the inaugural CIIE in 2018, SBF is leading a larger and more diverse delegation to CIIE this year. Spanning the logistics and transportation, finance and banking, education, healthcare, F&B and high technology sectors, the Singapore delegation will showcase a wider range of innovative, high-quality, and reliable products and services to cater to the rising demand of the Chinese market.

Occupying a total exhibition area of 1,600m2 this year, an increase of 12 percent from last year, Singapore companies will have a prominent presence at the Trade-in Services (1.1H), Food & Agriculture (8.2H) and Sci-tech Life (5.2H) Halls. The second China International Import Expo (CIIE) will take place on Nov 5-10 in Shanghai.
